Reviewer: Beth Lewis-
“By definition, "jazz" is an amalgamation of sounds and rhythms, characterized by improvisation and syncopation. This description becomes vividly animated on the debut CD from East Of West, CROSSING BORDERS. The collection opens with the title track, a rollicking and exuberant musical celebration. When you need a shot of adrenaline to keep going, East Of West offers up the perfect solution with "Second Wind." "View From My Window" makes you want to open up that casement and experience the scene for yourself. When long time friends join for a reunion it is always a pleasurable experience. In this case, we get to share in the delight."
The music of East of West brings a high energy and hard driven sound to jazz.

“This is the kind of jazz that makes you want to jump in your car and drive. I could spend hours listening to their music and do. They are often featured on my internet radio show."

“East of West is appropriately a bicoastal affair helmed by Steve Jeffrey and John Cardoso. Their Crossing Borders debut presents nine originals that masterfully navigate the somewhat tricky waters that bridge the varying shades of jazz.”
Your music appeared to cast a spell of joy and happiness on all of us in the audience.

"On behalf of the alumni association and the Carrol Center, I would like to thank East of West for your extraordinary performance. This was the most successful and enjoyable event we've had to date."
Listening to the talent on this CD is like listening to the best of the best.

I mixed Steve and John's East of West with Ray Charles, Willie Nelson, Patrick Ki and B B King. Yes, quite a varity in styles. Yet, when Steve and John's music takes its turn in the mix, it is every bit as professional and entertaining as these world-renowned artists. Don't miss out on this one....

I love it, this kind of music is getting real popular in Canada and Europe, ... Great job, I recommend it to all musicians.
Jazzy rock with many iPod-worthy tracks!
Reviewer: Marion Garbo Seltzer
Crossing Borders' tracks are bass-driven without being bass-heavy. There's more complexity than you find in easy-listening music, with beat change-ups and creative chord choices, yet the effect is uplifting and appealing. Each track is distinct and there's good interplay between bass, keyboard, and sax. Crossing Borders is definitely worth buying and then downloading to your iPod for good musical company while you exercise, do daily chores, or dance around your living room in your sock feet.
Crossing Borders and East of West is just the most excellent CD that I have hear

It's music is uplifting and is great to play in my new car. It is very positive music and I really like the syncopation and atypical rythms. Thanks for enriching my life with your music, I treasure it.
It sounded as good as Kenny G.

I am not an expert but have been part of organizing several Jazz concerts at hotels in the past and have been to see Kenny G. at an intimate setting in Idaho. Your's and John's music is as good as anyone I have heard. Good Luck!
